Clic What a year 2015 has been. As I sit here and write this I look back with amazement on how the world has changed in the last 12 months. As interesting as last year was I believe that we are in for quite a volatile year in 2016. I’ve heard a couple of ministers say that it will be the best of times and the worst of times and I couldn’t agree more. As the world falls into deeper darkness, the saints of God will burn brighter, and a pure glorious bride will arise, but not without a cost. As I been praying, three words have been impressed upon me. Those words are change, separation and intentional.
The week between Christmas and New Year I’ve felt in my spirit that something is changing, that something is different. I haven’t been given any insight as to what it is but there is definitely something happening that is going to bring big changes. This may look differently for each one of us but be ready for change.
Church as usual is not going to cut it any more. As a matter of fact, the time for playing church is over. The separation of the sheep and goats is here. A deeper more intimate relationship with Jesus will be required to walk through the times that are ahead. There are things in many of our lives, that while they may not be sin, they serve as a distraction. For many, God is beginning to speak to you about things in your life that have to go. People aren’t going to understand, your family and friends aren’t going to necessarily understand. You may have to walk alone in your convictions.
Holiness and sanctification are the order of the day. “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord,” Hebrews 12:14 (KJV). As the remnant believers separate themselves unto holiness, persecution will be on the rise and not just from the world. I believe that as a result of this, many are going to begin to be persecuted even by their own churches and other Christians. I know for many believer this has been going on already but it will be more evident across the board.
As the judgements increase in intensity (I believe that Judgements have already started to happen) some will turn to the Lord and draw closer to Him, but many will become offended at God and walk away from Him. I’m not talking about the world; I’m talking about Christians. Jesus tells us in Matthew 24:10,” And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another,” (KJV). I believe that the offenses will be two-fold. First of all those that are lukewarm are going to be offended at believers who are on fire for God, stand for holiness and refuse to compromise. Secondly, they are going to be offended at God and even blame Him for their loss and misfortunes.
Someone asked me the other day why would God be angry and do all of these things. Isn’t he supposed to be a God of love? He is a God of love and mercy but many refuse to see that he is also a God of righteous judgement. He allows these thing to happen because of His love and His mercy. As a parent, would you spoil your children to their own detriment? A parent that loves their children, while they want to give them good things, they also will discipline them for their own good. Through judgement, though many lives will be lost, many will also turn to Him in repentance. Let’s see what the word of God says about judgement:
“With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness,” Isaiah 26:9 (KJV).
“Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest,” Psalms 51:4 (KJV).
“But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world,” I Corinthians 11:32 (KJV).
“And they cried with a loud voice, saying, how long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled,” Revelation 6:10-11 (KJV).
“Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together. Before the Lord; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity,” Psalms 98:8-9 (KJV).
“Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the Lord, because he cometh to judge the earth,” I Chronicles 16:33 (KJV).
I believe that time is of the essence and that each of us will have to be intentional in doing what God has called us to do. Make the most of every opportunity and situation. No more excuses or wasting time.
2016 will be a year that many will have to put their money where their mouth is. It’s easy to sing about giving our all to Jesus and doing anything for His presence. Many only pay Him lip-service and when the calamities come some of those same people will quickly fall away. It’s easy to say these things when we are living in comfort, have a good job, are in good health and our families are well. I encourage each and every person to examine themselves and ask the Lord to expose the motives of our hearts. The question is will you follow Jesus if you lose everything and everyone? Think long and hard about what that means. Remember what happened with Peter. He swore that he would never deny the Lord, yet when trouble came, he denied Him three times (John18:15-27).
