“And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all,” Luke 17:26-27 (KJV). This scripture is quoted and used in many articles and discussion concerning the end times but not everything is being looked at. There is so much more than just the normal day to day life that was happening.
Let’s take a look at what was happening during those days. Yes, as the scripture says there was marrying and giving in marriage and so forth but there were other key things in the pre-flood world that we need to explore.
One of the things that this passage is saying to us is that life as we know it will continue to go on. We will continue to work raise families go on vacations go to school climb the corporate ladder, go to church and suddenly destruction will come. Sadly many won’t see it coming because they lack discernment of the times in which we live. Jesus himself warned about this in Matthew 16:3 (KJV), “….O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?” Many Christians are wrapped up in this world and its delicacies and delights but fail to see that it is leading them down the wide path of destruction. When the sudden destruction comes many will be caught off guard to the detriment of their souls.
Genesis 6:11 (KJV) says, “The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.” Let’s dive a little deeper into this verse. The definition of corruption per Merriam-Webster is:
There was also violence in the earth. This speaks for itself. We are living in a time in which there are unthinkable acts of violence happening daily around the world. I never thought that I would ever live in a world in which beheadings, excessive police brutality, violent attacks on law enforcement officers, school shootings, child murderers, cannibalism, and heinous terrorists’ acts among other things. There are those (scoffers) who will argue that there has been violence on the earth all throughout history. That is true, but the violence in today’s world is on a whole new level. There is also an outright rebellion against God and anything that is righteous in today’s society.
Let’s look at the state of mankind’s heart during the time of Noah. In Genesis 6:5 says, “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (KJV). All that one has to do is to look at the entertainment, the lifestyles that are being glorified the greed and corruption of society to see that this verse describes today’s world perfectly. Every perversion is now out of the closet and our culture now pushes the belief that there is no absolute truth. If it feels good do it. Right is wrong and wrong is now right.
Now let’s back up a bit to look at Genesis 6:2 and 6:4 (KJV). “That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men and they bare children unto them the same became mighty men which were of old men of renown.” From this we can see that there was a mixing of the seed of the fallen angels with the seed of man which produced these giants (Nephilim). Also as the scripture describes these were men of renown (fame or notoriety). This renown was not just in those days, but also throughout history. As a matter of fact we’re taught about them in school. Obviously the school systems of the world aren’t going to describe them as offspring of the fallen angels but we are taught about them in school courses such as Greek mythology. If you look at the ancient history of almost any civilization and there are tales of gods that came and interacted with mankind. These gods that were worshipped are non-other than the fallen angels themselves. As a result of this, not only was the earth corrupt but the seed of man also became corrupt. Genesis 6:9 tells us “…Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God” (KJV). This does not mean that Noah was totally perfect in that he was sinless. This is referring to the fact that his genetics had not become corrupted with the seed mixing that was going on in those times.
What is happening in today world is a resurgence of worship of those ancient entities. We see this all throughout our modern culture. A prime example of this is the new age movement that teaches practices such as ascension, communication with spirit guides, and the awakening of the consciousness. This is nothing new. Remember the tree of knowledge from the Garden of Eden? This is nothing more than satan craftily enticing mankind into eating forbidden spiritual fruit. Those that are not rooted and grounded and Jesus will be enticed to partake in this ungodly delicacy. The world is rapidly moving toward a one world system of government, commerce and religion under the reign of satan himself.
When the son of perdition comes on the scene and the mark is introduced, I don’t think that it will merely be a mark for buying and selling. It will be enticing in that it will promise those who take it that they will be stronger, enlightened and ascended to a higher consciousness. It will be a corruption of the seed of man by altering the DNA itself and sealing those who take it as eternally unredeemable.
So if one were to really understand these things in depth there will be the realization that we are indeed living in times that are referred to as it was in the days of Noah.
