It was a long hard journey to Calvary. The time had come and He knew what He had to do. The weight of the sins of the world was upon His shoulders. But as He traveled on that road you were on His mind.
As He was mocked and spit upon, He saw you as a child being ridiculed and bullied because you were different. He caught every tear that you cried. He felt the rejection that you experienced.
As he stumbled along that road, He saw you crouched into the corner crying because you had been abused and it seemed like no one cared. He heard when you asked why me.
By now, the crown of thorns that had been placed on His head had resulted in copious amounts of blood running into his eyes, blurring his vision, but yet He saw you clearly.
He saw you as your husband beat, humiliated and rejected you.
As the weight of the cross became too much to bare, he stumbled and fell down. Yet in His pain He did not think of Himself, He thought of you. He saw you laying there with your body racked with disease and pain and He heard you crying out to die.
As the nails were driven into His hands, He saw you sitting there contemplating ending your life because the emotional pain was just too much to bare.
He saw you when you were overcome with grief because of the loved one that you lost. He heard when you questioned why.
As the nails were driven into His feet, He heard you when you asked why was I born? What is my purpose?
“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all,” Isaiah 53:5-6 (KJV).
