When I woke up to the truth several years ago, I was on a search for voices out there that I could follow and get education, information and spiritual food for the hard times that are coming. I will say that it’s been quite a journey thus far and I wanted to do this article because I’m sure that there are those that are just starting out and are looking for answers like I was. With the internet, it’s now possible for anyone to set up shop so unfortunately there is a lot of junk to muddle through to get to the jewels. As we progress further into the end times I am hearing more and more people who are hungering for truth and are tired of the lies that we’ve been fed. For those that are seeking, the real truth is found in Jesus who tells us in John 14:6 (KJV), “…I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
As a Christian, the first place that I sought answers was my bible. That should be any believers’ first and final authority on any matter. All the websites, blog talk shows, YouTube channels etc. are supplementary as far as I’m concerned. I came to the conclusion that America is Babylon and many other things by seeking God and reading my bible, not from a website or video. Only after I sought God and biblical truth did I start searching other resources.
Many in the truth movement are being deceived and lead astray because they just take someone else’s word for it and don’t check out the facts themselves. Also beware that there are those out there who have been placed there by the New World Order Luciferians to provide disinformation and confuse you. There are those that have been placed there to stir up anger and hatred so that you will react in the wrong way. When checking out a website, ministry, YouTube channel etc. ask yourself the following questions:
Is the person coming in the right spirit? Sometimes the truth is being told but the spirit or motive behind it is impure. Could be motivated by hatred, greed, wanting attention, narcissism or pride. “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world,” I John 4:1 (KJV).
Is the person/ website just out to prey upon our fears and make money? There are several sites that will scare you real good, then turn around to sell you something that will ensure your security during the hard times. Your only protection/security will be in the Most High, for those that dwell in the secret place (Psalms 91).
If it’s a Christian site are they focusing on spiritual solutions (repentance, living right, getting closer to Jesus) over practical ones?
Does the site/person always have to rely on hyped up headlines such as “Chilling…Jaw Dropping….Earth Shattering” to attract an audience? Once you read the information is there really any substance or truth to it? How does it line up with the word of God?
Do you get a check in your spirit or uneasy feeling about the person/website? Remember to seek God and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.
If a person is posting under a nickname with no other information about them, why aren’t they willing to reveal their true identity?
Is someone promoting a dream or vision that is contrary to the word of God?
How does this person react under pressure or when they are being threatened? Do they respond in a godly manner or do they suddenly become another person (bad language, name calling, returning threats)? Do they respond according the Romans 12:17-21 (KJV)? “Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”
Has the website/person made predictions (or prophesied thus saith the Lord) that have proven to be false? Has it happened time and time again? “And if thou say in thine heart, how shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him,” Deuteronomy 18:21-22 (KJV).
If you follow an online personality, do some research and find out who they follow/associate with. The company that we keep tells a lot about us.
Beware of those that claim to be the only ones with the right information and those that seem to only promote themselves instead of the message. “Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips,” Proverbs 27:2 (KJV). No one person or group is going to have all the answers about everything. God reveals bits and pieces to each of use lest we become prideful. Jesus warns in Matthew 24:24 (KJV), that there would be great deception in the last days, “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
First and foremost on your quest for truth you need to seek God with your whole heart. Ask Him to speak to you and guide you on who you should be listening to. Ask Him to open up your understanding of His word and what it really says about the endtimes. When I started out on this journey there were many in the truth movement that I starting listening to, but over the last couple of years, I’ve narrowed it way down to just a few. Even with these few, I still check to ensure that what they are saying is lining up with the word of God.
I know that it can become mindboggling to filter through all of the junk that is out there to get to the truth. Don’t give up and remember that, “…Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free,” John 8:32 (KJV).
