They’re Coming for Us
As most of us here in the western world enjoy our comfortable lives, many of our brothers and sisters around the world are suffering persecution and even death. As ISIS and other terrorist groups are running rampant, many are being beheaded with swords, crucified, impaled, etc. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain and suffering that they are having to endure. This reminds me of the words of Jesus in Matthew 24:13, “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved” (KJV). Prior to this statement, Jesus described what it would be like in the end times for those who are sold out to him. To paraphrase, there will be betrayals, the love of many will wax cold, and nation will rise against nation (race wars), famines, and pestilences.
I encourage you to pray for our brethren who are going through this. When these things reach our shores we will be begging for someone to pray for us. Don’t sit back with an indifferent attitude and say, it will never happen here. Unfortunately, the stage is being set for it to happen here. Intolerance for Christianity and morality, open borders and turning a blind eye to the atrocities perpetrated on Christians around the world are all playing a part. Events are happening so fast that it’s hard to keep up with all of it.
We have ISIS running rampant, 11 commercial jets missing in Libya, the Russian- Ukraine tensions just to name a few. Most people that I talk to hate it when I start speaking about these things. They would rather live with their heads in the sand. Jesus did not call us to live this way. We have to wake up, face reality, and prepare ourselves for what is coming. Believe me, I’m preaching to myself also. The spirit indeed is willing but the flesh is weak. It is imperative that we prepare ourselves spiritually for what is coming our way. I hear so much out there about storing food and water, buying guns, ammunition, gold and silver. These things are all good to have on hand, but they won’t prepare you to stand and keep your testimony in the face of death. And no, I don’t believe that we are going to be whisked away in a pre-tribulation rapture. I do believe that God can and will provide a way of escape for some, but many of us will be asked to give our physical lives for the name of Jesus. Personally, I can’t think of any higher honor than that.
The thing that concerns me is that when these things begin to come to pass, many will fall. When the pre-tribulation rapture does not happen and folks have to face hardship and severe persecution, sadly many will renounce their faith. That’s when we will begin to see Christians betraying other Christians to save their own necks. We will begin to see family members turn on one another. Remember, Jesus was betrayed by one that was close to him. Jesus warned in Matthew 10:36, “And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household” (KJV).
Now is the time to get as close to Jesus as you can. Repent and seek his face. Yes, they are coming for us. My question to you is; will you endure until the end?
